Card For Mojo Monday Week 84

Here is the Mojo Monday Sketch
Here is my card..

I needed to listen to that little voice in my head that said "stop while you are ahead!!" LOL. I got carried away with my flowers! The top of the card seemed empty so I put flowers in the upper left hand corner, then I put one in Ginger Ketto's hand and it was downhill from there.
AHHH well it is what it is.
I used CTMH Emporium Lv 2 papers and also their creative basics papers. The sentiment is from the CTMH Express Postage SS. The little sweetie in the middle is Ginger Ketto. I LOVE her. She has 2 sisters...Wasabi and Sake. The blingy flowers were a find at Hobby lobby, but I cannot remember the brand.
I used a Sakura glitter pen on her hem and silver Stickles for her hair ...chopsticks? OHH and she is paper pieced using the same papers as the card.
My Shout out tonight is for Kelly over at La Maison de Papier. She is a fellow CTMH consultant and has so much talent. Want to see an amazing card??? Go check out this one
I hope you are all having a wonderful Wednesday. Thanks as always for ALL your wonderful comments!
Enjoy!

'Tea Party' Bridal Shower Invite...

A friend of mine asked me for an idea, for an invite to a bridal shower that had a tea party theme...

This is what I came up with...I wasn't happy with the inside so I am not posting it LOL.

I also didn't have anything that said 'Bridal' to put on the front.
The Tea pot and cup are embossed with an embossing tool and brass stencil, then chalked and inked and cut out. The 'you're invited' sentiment is from a last year CTMH SOTM (stamp of the month). The papers and CS are CTMH's That's Amore Paper Pack. The flowers are CTMH that have been inked with Hollyhock and Chocolate inks. I put a few flat back pearls in the center of the flowers. The card needs something....but I can't think what...maybe a big button..no just kidding LOL.
I loved the idea of the sentiment being 'poured' into the tea cup. But the top is too empty..maybe I should have clustered the flowers in a top corner???
Anyways enough of my misgivings..

OK my shout out tonight is for Amy from Amy's Art from the Heart . She is a fellow CTMH consultant and she has some gorgeous stuff on her blog. You should go check out this card she made with some of the new, soon to be available, stamps and papers...so cool!

I hope you are all having a wonderful Tuesday...
Thanks so much for each and EVERY comment...I appreciate them all so much.
Enjoy!

Card for CP Sketch #12

Here is the Card Patterns Sketch #12

Here is my card...

OK so I got more of those buttons again LOL...
This is a 5x7 card using the Kraft style CS again. The patterned paper is CTMH's Perfect Day
Lv 2 pack. The buttons are mounted on CTMH's Dimensional Elements, which I inked with Hollyhock and Chocolate ink. The sentiment is from CTMH's Say it In Style SS and the buttons are CTMH.
I think I like the previous button card better than this one , but I still loved using these big beauties LOL. They made the card so simple and easy.
I don't know about you guys, but I went and bought all this cool and trendy paper from other companies...but when I sit down with a sketch or idea in my head it's my CTMH packs that I end up reaching for time and time again...They are just so easy to work with. And I am not just saying that because I am a consultant.
I think I am going to mention someone else's blog with each post I do seen as I get so much inspiration from everyone else! That way if a card or LO caught my eye I can send you there so you don't miss out! (because there are like a hundred bazillion blogs out there it seems. My son informs me that the correct term for a big number is a google...or a googleplex...who knew! Apparently a google is a number 1 with a hundred zeros after it...and a googleplex is a 1 with a goggle number of zeros after it...Now you know!)
OK I am waffling. The blog I would like to mention today is Kathi's Corner....it is probably a blog you all go to often, but I want to say that I spend much time there looking at her wonderful cards and reading her great posts! You have to check out this card she made...it's gorgeous!
Anyways..have a wonderful Monday.
Enjoy!

Card for CPS 113

Here is the Sketch over at the CPS blog

Here is my card..

I had a BLAST making this card...actually I made 2 very similar but I will post the other one tomorrow for the Card Patterns sketch.
Amy and I went to Wal Mart for groceries and naturally my cart deviated to their craft and fabric sections where we ohhed and ahhed over some ribbon. Then we saw these button sets they had and I KNEW I had to put them on a card. Amy had a great time with me looking through all the ribbon to find some that matched...We scored in their reduced ribbon bin!!
I have been enjoying the K Werner Design Blog and love her style of cards SO I thought I would have a go at cards like this. I LOVE this Kraft Card Stock. Not much to say about this card. Ribbon and Buttons from Wal Mart, Kraft paper from LSS, Cocoa CS from CTMH, sentiment 'Say it In Style' CTMH.
Can we say...thank goodness for acrylic stamps!!!!
I actually really like this card, but to me it's the buttons that 'make' it.
Hope you are all having a wonderful Sunday...make sure you leave a comment on my Blog candy post...EVEN if you don't offer blog candy on your blog..(yes, you, Jeanne), it's the comments that are so special to me not the fact that you offer candy!!!!
Enjoy!

Card for Unscripted Sketches 03

Here is the new sketch from Unscripted Sketches ....

Here is my card...

I know, I know the sentiment is not straight and it is BUGGING me...but apparently not enough to go downstairs and fix right now. It was stamped with a rubber stamp....and....I have to say, I am spoiled with my clear stamps!
The card is a 6x6. I used CTMH's Perfect Day PP . The center is a doily I picked up at the grocery store the other day ..ha ha...My 12 yr old DD looks at me and says knowingly...."you are going to use that for a card aren't you!" , as I stand there with them in my hand...sigh. I bought ones that are waxy coated sadly so they are not easy to color or add ink to.
I stamped many versions then cut out a circle of Colonial White CS and stamped my image on that. I used gold Stickles to accent the stamp.
I learned this today....it is very hard to make a circle freehand with Stickles LOL
The stamp set is CTMH's You've Got Flair and will be one of their SOTM from the Summer catalog. I colored it with CTMH's markers....Juniper, Tulip, Sorbet, and Creme Brulee.
I decided to decorate the inside of the card with more of my doily practice runs..
I hope you are all having an awesome Saturday. I was all prepared for a day of working in the garden....then it rained! So I decided to go to my spot and create.....BUT it was such a mess I cleaned it up for about 2 hours. Then I managed to do this card.
Enjoy!

What I received from Chrissy...

...for commenting on her first five to comment giveaway! There was more loot but this is what I took pic's of.
Making papercrafts for other extremely talented papercrafters is a daunting prospect, but I am glad I did it and had a GREAT time. I had the chance to comment on Chrissy's first 5 to comment blog post over at Creating with Chrissy and received my goodies the other day. Thanks Chrissy!!! You have to go check out her blog, it is AMAZING...!

I Tried a Vintage Card....

I thought I would try a 'vintage' type card with lots of distressing. Over at the Hero Art's blog they are showing techniques all to do with distressing, so I thought I would have a go. I couldn't enter it in their challenge as I didn't use a Hero Art's stamp.
I used CTMH's Cocoa and, I think, Vanilla Cream CS (but I could be wrong and often am). I used some Vintage Travel B&T Paper. The sentiment is from a previous CTMH Stamp of the Month (I can't remember the name of it....how sad is that!) The Lace 'ribbon' is from Hobby Lobby and the buttons from my collection...(and some from the ones Chrissy sent me for commenting on her blog..I will post that loot later.)
I cut some Cocoa CS with my Martha Stewart punch and added some 'ribbon'. The flower is a Nestibilities die and the Crocheted flower is a CTMH one that was distressed with some ink. I used my CTMH Edge Distresser....that thing ROCKS and is only $2.50!!!!
I think that is about it...
Hope you are having a wonderful Friday! It is so warm here today..high 80's! I finally caved and turned the AC on.
Thanks everyone for all your wonderful comments......I have been blogging now for 2 months, as of yesterday, and am getting close to 2000 hits !!!! I think I may have to offer some blog Candy at 2000....I have a Just Because Card Kit from CTMH that is still in it's cello wrapper and I think I may have to offer that, so stay tuned!
Enjoy!

Card for CPS112

Here is the sketch over at the CPS blog

Here is my card

This card sort of evolved as I went along. Initially my plan was to have 2 pop-dotted cupcakes in the circle holes..but I just couldn't get them to look right. So move on to plan B...faces...nope didn't work...move on the plan C butterflies!
This is a 8 x 3 1/2 card. I used CTMH's black cardstock and Daydream lv 2 paper pack. The butterflies are cut using a Martha Stewart punch and the hole's in the card are cut with the Coluzzle...that knife cut through 4 layers! I used a Sakura Gelly Roll silver star glitter pen to put dots on the butterflies and carry the design of the paper onto the slash in the center. The photo doesn't show it but it is really glittery. The pearls came from Hobby Lobby I think but I have lost the package and don't know who made them.
I think that is it on the card...I am happy with it and it looks really cute IRL. I esp like the butterflies on the black CS when the card is open. Now I just have to finish the inside, which I am really bad at doing.
I hope you are all having a wonderful Wednesday, and if you haven't already, you need to check out the Creative Bliss Blog by Jeanne. This is one talented lady who can crochet and cross stitch like nothing I have seen...and her papercrafts are gorgeous.
Enjoy!

Card for Color Chef Challenge #3

Here are the Color Chef Challenge colors over at KJ's Stamp Pad

Here is my card

Just a quick and simple card...I didn't even use any foam tape or foam dots..gasp!
This is a 5x7 card using CTMH's black cardstock. I cut a piece of White Daisy Cardstock 4x7 and random stamped it with the flower images from our new Tickled Pink stamp set using Watermelon, Sunflower and Black ink.
Now this is actually very difficult for me because I am RS challenged! No matter what I do I can never seem to get the 'random' bit right. Soooo I decided to random stamp a larger piece and cut it to 4x7 which seemed to help a bit. Then I cut that piece into 3 and adhered it to my card. I stamped the sentiment and added a couple of bitty brads. I would love to have added some ribbon but I didn't have any watermelon or sunflower colors and the white and black didn't work.
Not my best card but it was a fun challenge and once again I got to use an ink that I had never used before! Thanks Kelly!
I know there are like a bazillion papercraft blogs out there and it is hard to see them all...however if you have never visited Waltzingmouse Makes.. blog then I recommend you take a minute and check it out. This talented lady makes some amazing cards, and crafts, and her photo's of Ireland are amazing. She also said she will be posting a 'how to' on how to use your brass embossing plates in your Cuttlebug soon! Now that sounds like something I would definitely like to learn.
Hope you are all having a wonderful Tuesday.
Enjoy!

Card for Mojo Monday Week #83

Here is the Mojo Monday Week #83 Sketch

Here is my version

Sorry the pic is so dark! I was having camera issues. The colors are much nicer in real life.

I enjoyed making this sketch tonight. I tried to keep it simple. It is a 6x6 sized card.

I used CTMH White Daisy Cardstock, patterned paper from The Paper Loft Slug Bug pack (bought for my kids who LOVE playing slug bug when driving....only we don't slug.....), a Hero Art's stamp set, Martha Stewart punch and CTMH buttons.
I am loving the mushrooms.

Hope you are all having a wonderful Monday..TG for Mojo Monday!

I am soooooo tired, getting old is not easy LOL
Enjoy!

Card for Unscripted Sketches 02

Here is the Unscripted Sketches , Sketch #02

Here is my version

I used CTMH's Silhouette Creative Basics paper and ribbon that came with the pack and some black CTMH CS.

I used this cool embossing plate I just bought. You basically put the brass plate on a light source, with the paper over the top and use your embossing stylus and trace the image. It was SO EASY and so super cool looking. Sadly it really doesn't show up on the picture. Then I rubbed some shimmery chalk over the image and mounted it. I added some Prima Flowers with some flat pearl embellies.
Here is the light 'table' and the brass 'stencil' I used.

While I am not happy with the card..It was a starting point. I really did enjoy using the dry embossing stylus on that stencil. I will have to perfect my technique for coloring them. Any pointers would be appreciated!
I am exhausted my my Girl Scout overnighter (but it was fun) and am looking at a merciless 12 hour shift tomorrow!
I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!
P.S. If you haven't been over to Wonderfully Whimsy this week then you are missing OUT!!! Rachel's Mom has posted a weeks worth of totally amazing art, and you have GOT to check it out. Talk about talented.
Enjoy!!

Card for So Sketchy Sunday #9

Mary over at On Life and Creating has a sketch to try Here is my version..

My DH asked me to make a get well card for a male co-worker who was having surgery. Making cards for men is not easy for me ..esp get well cards. I SOOO want to put flowers and stuff on it.
Anyways...it was with severe restraint I came up with this.
I used all CTMH supplies... Emporium Paper Packet, Dainty Thoughts SS, Chocolate ink, Cocoa grosgrain ribbon and some of the big, fancy, can't remember their name, brads and bitty brads, oh and a little foam tape.
I am overall pleased with this card.
If I haven't said it recently I would like to say a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who leaves a comment on my blog! I really appreciate it...you make my day brighter and encourage me to keep creating!
I have a Girl Scout Overnighter Friday night with my two girls and then I am working 12 hours Sun. , so I will not be posting, probably, until Monday. I think I may go into blog withdrawal!!!
I hope you all have a wonderful Friday and weekend!!!
Enjoy!
