Two Simple Christmas Cards

DSC_0005

DSC_0010

DSC_0006 DSC_0009

These 2 cards were really simple…BUT still took me a while to get them’ just so’…kind of ridiculous seen as they are SOOOO simple. Those trees are actually embossed in silver, as are the sentiments..and look really pretty IRL.

Supplies: All CTMH. White Daisy, grey Flannel, Grey Wool CS, Four Seasons, Say it In Style, and Festive Frills SS. Silver embossing powder.

I was over at Mere’s blog and read that one of her favorite bloggers had been diagnosed with cancer and was having surgery today. She asked that if you are a believer in the power of prayer that maybe we could pray for Kelley (you can read her story here) and form a prayer chain by posting this on our blogs. Read the details HERE. She is offering some blog candy for this cause BUT I am doing it because I have had people praying for me and I know it makes a difference.

Amy’s Sketch challenge extended until Sunday 6th

I have had several people post cards for Amy’s challenge see deets HERE…and there is candy being offered from me for the card she likes best for her sketch…I have quite a few duplicate SS’s and a WHOLE Tickled Pink set unopened ready to give away, plus some other goodies! I think I will extend the deadline to Sunday the 6th at midday incase anyone else wants to join in ;0)

I hope you are all having a great Monday and are fully recovered from your Thanksgiving festivities.

Enjoy!

Unscripted Sketch #33

SK sketch 1 US sketch 33

Well it is Saturday and that means it is time for Unscripted Sketch # 33 woohooo. This one was a toughie for me…as you can see I flipped it. I am thinking I should have gone for a LO instead. My DS chose the colors  as this was his birthday card. All supplies are CTMH except the gold wire.  No supply list today as I am being lazy hee hee. Be the first to upload a card and grab an Unscripted Blinkie…or be our random winner each week and grab a winners blinkie :0) Run on over and check out the rest of the DT’s work…!

So did you all survive Thanksgiving and Black Friday? Did you venture out and grab some deals? I wandered out about 2 pm and grabbed up some fleece at Joann’s for $2.99 a yard. That was the busiest store I went to… Hobby Lobby wasn’t bad and Walmart was quiet. I was told Toys R Us was mayhem at 2am….that they were directing traffic around the parking lot is was so busy…crazy!!!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Enjoy!

OK, is it alright to say that you are proud of your work???? Well I am proud of this Miss Anya.  I think this is one of the best I have colored yet.  I am on the Copic  learning curve that’s for sure. So Penny’s challenge is to use NO DP’s… I random stamped my colonial white card stock with clouds and rain.

DSC_0003

I am NOT a random stamper…despite all the tips and tricks..so I stamped these in lines  :0)   And as you may recall from THIS post there is candy up for grabs for participating in this sketch challenge…hee hee.

Supplies: Colonial White, Dutch Blue, Grey flannel and Grey Wool CS CTMH, Nestabilities dies, Miss Anya SS TGF, Copic Markers, Prima Flowers, Cute little gem things that look like water drops form Hobby Lobby, TLC SS CTMH, Around The Block SS CTMH, Dutch Blue, Grey Wool, Grey Flannel,  Sunflower inks CTMH

Well I hope you are all enjoying a fabulous day with family! Please take a moment to be thankful for your family and the fact that you have the opportunity to be with them at the holidays. We spend our Thanksgiving alone as all my family are in the UK and hubby’s family are not in contact with us. Although I know there are times when you wish you could be alone for the holidays…be thankful you are not…we wish with all our hearts we could spend time with our family!

Have a blessed and safe Holiday.

Enjoy!

Card Patterns Week #42 AND A CHALLENGE FOR YOU…….SCROLL DOWN!

DSC_0006

DSC_0003 DSC_0002

sketch42

I haven’t done a Card Patterns Sketch in FOREVER…but this one was intriguing. The card was much prettier in my head…..though I am not totally unhappy with this one. The pattern paper is really busy so I chose to keep that sentiment  plain….though that scrolled font is so gorgeous it really doesn’t need anything else.

Supplies: All CTMH unless stated. Black Card Stock, Colonial White Card Stock, Black ink, Silhouette Creative Basics paper, lace ribbon, Pearls from my stash, Nestabilities dies, Gracious Greetings SS.

OK do you want to have some fun…make a little girl smile and win some great goodies????? Then read on….

So I was down in my space making my card tonight and I had a little helper (my 8 yr old DD)…..She was full of questions like “what’s embossing mom?” and “can I turn the handle on the cranky thing?” and “which one of these is a Cuttlebug?”, then ”What is a sketch?” After I explained all of the above to her she wanted to look at the CP sketch. Then I hear her go running upstairs and she comes back armed with paper, and a Sharpie marker.  After a while she produces her own sketch!!!! I was just tickled. After a discussion with her I decided to post it on here and offer it up as a challenge.  She wants people to make cards using her sketch and then she wants to pick the winner. I decided to offer up some goodies as incentive. I think it would make her day!!!  I don’t have a mr Linky so leave a comment on this post with a link to your card and we will check them out.  Here is the sketch

This one I didn’t cut out like yesterdays…  I know this is very similar to yesterdays post..but I am loving this stamp.  I don’t know why,  but I seem to make more and more cards these days with cardstock only???? Go figure. It’s not like I don’t have a bajillion tons of patterned paper!

Supplies: White Daisy CS CTMH, Cranberry CS CTMH, New England Ivy Ink CTMH, Copic Marker, Candy Cane Stickles, Red shiny stickers Stampendous, Holiday Trinkets SS CTMH, Cranberry Ink CTMH, Bitty brad CTMH.

I cannot wait for Thanksgiving…funny seen as I am an expat. Brit!!!! However Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays…like Christmas without the gifts.

Card CASE’d From Cibele…

DSC_0060

DSC_0058

SO I was checking out my fav blogs and came across THIS card from my blogging buddy Cibele at Flower Foot Designs blog. It took my breath away….AND there is a GREAT tutorial on how to do the ribbon. Well I didn’t have any nice green ribbon..but I did have the wreath stamp, so I totally CASE’d her card. I am not good at making cards in bulk but I made 4 of these and 4 others using the same stamp. Took me FOREVER…esp all the coloring, cutting, and sticking on of all those little sticker thingies. I am a 1 card a night Gal LOL. Hope you don’t mind me copying you Cibele but I just LOVED your card. This will also do for Sparkle’s Christmas card challenge this week yeah!!!

Supplies: Colonial White CS CTMH, Old Paper Distress ink Ranger, Wreath wooden stamp Stampendous, little red shiny sticker thingies Stampendous, Copic, Stickles, Olive ink CTMH, Bigger brad CTMH.

I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend and are keeping safe if you are already travelling. I thought I would share a few Lego battle pics from my son’s hard work on his birthday. You just HAVE to LOVE Lego’s for inspiring creativity and imagination as well as manual dexterity and following instructions (not so well for Mom ). The pride my son has on his face after he has completed a project all by himself is priceless. He got a Wii and a DS game…but he went first to the Lego’s.

SK sketch 2 US sketch 32

Hello Saturday, and hello to another Unscripted Sketch. This one is nice and simple, just how I like them. Sorry you have yet another white and blue Christmas card :( ,I just can’t help myself. This one uses Miss Anya from TGF and some CTMH papers Sweet Home…not really Christmas paper but I really liked how it looked with this image. I loved these little glittery little white embellies along the bottom too…not sure of where I picked them up, maybe Hobby Lobby.

Something new at Unscripted started last week.. we are introducing a new blinkie for being the 1st person to upload their project to Mr. Linky. Grab the blinkie in the sidebar if you are lightening quick! We’re also happy to announce that each week we’ll be choosing a random winner for those who have posted their link to Mr. Linky. You’ll have until 6 p.m. EST this Thursday to post your link to Mr. Linky in order to be considered for the drawing. The winner will be announced next Saturday. If you are chosen you get to grab the Unscripted Winner blinkie. Sounds like fun, right?

Supplies: CTMH Lv 2 PP Sweet Home, Versafine Onyx black ink, Copic Markers, Sentiment CTMH, Miss Anya Stamp TGF, Sakura silver marker.

My son had a wonderful birthday thanks so much for the good wishes! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

Enjoy!

Card Using Bigsby from Karen’s Doodles

DSC_0031

DSC_0032

So my good friend and fellow Unscripted DT member, Dawn, emailed me  and asked if I would like to make a card using a digital stamp created by a  friend of hers, Karen Johnson, who was wanting to open up a new digi stamp store. Dawn also contacted several other extremely talented ladies like Leslie, Kim, and Cibele and we all came up with some cards using the image. The two sites opened up today You can check them out right now.  The digital site is Karen’s Doodles and the art is showcased at the Doodle diva’s blog. I believe Karen and Dawn are hoping to get them fully functional soon so you can get your hands on some awesome digi stamps. For further info on this check here.

I printed this digi image out on some white cardstock using my HP Photosmart D7260 printer and colored it with Copics. The advantage of digi images is NO BLEEDING and a perfect image every time. While I am not ready to give up stamping yet I have to say this turned out very nicely. The cardstock and ribbon are all from my stash and I cut the image with Nestabilities. I kept the card simple so that the image would be the center of attention…(think my bow is a bit OTT though.)

Today is my DS’s 10th birthday and he is busy building Star Wars Lego’s…I am so glad he can do them himself now….used to be I built all his Lego creations….sigh…I can tell you building Jabba’s flying Palace from Lego is a MAJOR undertaking of many, many hours.

Enjoy!

And now for something completely different….

from me that is LOL….This card is wayyy different from my norm.

So I got this DCWV stack at Joanne’s on sale….Love the paper. This snowman was at the bottom of a 12x12 sheet that was supposed to be for a LO from the looks of it. What caught my eye was all the faux stitching. So I cut it out and made holes between all the lines to make it look real. Then I though it needed more dimension…so I cut up the snowman on the next page and put his hat, scarf, and heart on this one with some foam tape. The I added some bling and glitter with a Sakura pen. After that I added it to some White Daisy and I think Crystal blue cardstock and did some more faux stitching around the edge. Some snowflakes and buttons and MS branch punch later, I was done. I left this card without a sentiment as it was already wayyyyy busy for me. Don’t know whether I like it or not at the moment. But I am sure you will tell me what you think!

My Supplies are listed above :-) and NO STAMPING hee hee.

Well it is my DS’s birthday tomorrow and we made cupcakes this afternoon…My kids all opt to make their own cakes over having one bought. (saves me a bundle). Dan wanted green food coloring added to the cake batter and blue and green icing….made for some fun colors. There was a bit of a sugar rush after the leftover frosting was licked lovingly from the bowl .  Sadly it seems that the postal strike that was going on in the UK has delayed his birthday cards from my family….so he only has the one that I made him and his sister made him. Also his Dad can’t be here for his birthday as he is in LA until Friday with the new job. I am not complaining though….we are so blessed he HAS a job. BUT being homeschooled he has requested a day off from school!!!! Now that I can give him yeah!

DSC_0009 DSC_0001 DSC_0002 DSC_0004 DSC_0006 DSC_0007

OH and my blog title totally reminded me of Monty Python …I used to love some of their stuff…especially the Dead Parrot sketch and the Ministry of Silly Walks sketch. You can see loads of these on You Tube.

Enjoy!
