Flowers and a Little Card For You…..

004

006

OK so you know all those little bitty pieces that fall out of your various punches….I tried to use them in this card. Really I was just playing around. I had seen Mere from Mere’s Lair emboss kraft CS on her blog with this card and I thought it looked really great. So I ran a bunch of kraft through my embossing folders and started playing with them. This card is 4x4 size. The little corner doohickeys  were what was left from messing with a Fiskars corner punch…The little white flowers are the leftovers of another Fiskars punch that punches borders, ovals and circles..it also has these cute little ivy leaf leftovers too. The kraft in the middle is embossed with a cuttlebug folder but it doesn’t show up well in the picture. You need a steady hand and tweezers to work with these little bits of paper LOL..and putting bitty brads through the middle of the flowers was…let’s just say…more than frustrating.I think it actually looks better IRL.

Supplies: CTMH white daisy CS, kraft CS LSS, sentiment CTMH, Bamboo ink CTMH, Bitty brads CTMH.

I got a macro lens for my little 5 mp Kodak D740 camera and here are some cool flower pics I took with it….Very hard to do on a breezy day. Thanks Beth for the inspiration and for enabling me :-)056 004 007 009 013 015 017 019 024 028 031 040 051

Quickie Card…

 001

003

Just a quick card tonight as my mojo is not at  it’s best. I think it’s because I am working this holiday weekend and it’s already bumming me out :-(

I cut the butterfly with the Cricut Indie Art Cartridge and the borders with my new Fiskars border punch (thanks to a Joann’s 40% off coupon).

I challenged myself to work with 2 colors I don’t usually use and that don’t really go together LOL …I don’t know what I think of it. I am thinking I should not have used the kraft paper.

Supplies: CS CTMH, kraft CS LSS, Sentiment For Every Occasion SS CTMH, Fiskars border punch, Cricut.

Our temperatures have become a lot more tolerable and we had a spectacular Sunday.  I hope you are all having a great Monday.

Enjoy!

WELL You can see what I’ve been busy with these last few days ha ha. I decided I wanted to use Key to My Heart papers as I got a pack in my goodie box…Then I chose a card pattern from Wishes (can’t remember which one it was LOL, and I am too lazy to walk downstairs and get the book so you will just have to buy one :-)) Then I used Vicki’s template for the Double Scrapling box and cards, Aaron’s template (and a complete CASE of her note card and envelope box and note cards) for the note card holder, and my own little box and 4x4 cards with acetate lid for the last little box set. ( I do have that now as a PDF file if you want a copy…just drop me an email)

Then I recycled an old curtain bag ( the kind that holds curtains or comforters ya know with the zippers) and put in 2 stamp sets. The outside I did with some punches and the Cricut! I had a lot of fun and hope she likes it. I LOVE those colors.

Supplies: Key to My Heart papers CTMH, Juniper, Sorbet, Crème Brulee inks CTMH, Martha Stewart butterfly punch, Sorbet brads CTMH, Cricut, Cuttlebug, Spellbinders Nestibilities,  Stamps all CTMH.

Hope you guys are having a wonderful Sunday.

Happy Birthday Jessica.

If you get a chance head on over to Unscripted Sketches and try the new sketch!!!

It’s Saturday and time for another Unscripted Sketch challenge!!!! For this one I used my favorite stamp Geisha Anya. Another Butterfly with Bling Card….

003

005

006

007

So here is another butterfly card with that same S.E.I. paper! I used a clear acetate card for this one…and I painted the edges with CTMH’s Create-a-shade paint but it doesn’t show up well in the picture. The thing with the clear cards is that any sentiment you put on the inside shows through…and in this instance I wanted the background to be plain. Soooo i decided to put my sentiment in a little pull out tag. I actually liked it….I guess you could even put a gift card in there too!

Supplies: Shortcuts clear acetate card blank, SEI paper, Spellbinders butterfly die, bling from Wal-Mart, Chocolate ink CTMH, Sentiment CTMH.

I don’t know if you guys have ever tried this..but it is my kids new favorite thing to do. We bought some Wal-Mart brand biscuits in the tubes, heated some vegetable oil , made the biscuits into doughnut shapes and popped them into the oil for a few mins. Once they are nice and puffed up and golden brown we coat them in sugar and enjoy LOL.

More Butterflies…..

010

009

011

I played some more with my S.E.I. papers. Here I used the punch out die cuts that came in the pack….added some pearls and used the frosted card blank from Sheetload Shortcuts . I really love the effect the frosted card gives.  This cards was soooo simple and quick..when I finally decided what I wanted to do.

Supplies: Shortcuts frosted acetate card blank, S.E.I. paper pack die cuts, pearls (unknown)  from Hobby Lobby. Sentiment stamp CTMH, Chocolate ink CTMH.

Well we had an ugly storm here last evening…temp dropped from 98-100 to 72 in a matter of minutes. It was like someone put out the sun it got so dark. Very high winds, but fortunately no tornados here in Des Moines.

I went out and got my younger 2 kiddos desks and chairs for their bedrooms, and they have been up there for ages playing and writing each other notes!! Too funny. With all of them at home this school year I felt it was necessary that I could send them to their rooms for some quiet work time if needed. I am sure the novelty will wear off soon.

I hope you are all having a wonderful Wednesday!

Enjoy!

Card For CPS #121…

012

014

121

I decided to try this sketch over at the CPS Blog. Then I got carried away and made several cards using pink, butterflies, and bling!!! So be prepared in the next couple of posts. I picked up this paper by S.E.I at Hobby Lobby the other day and just love it, such wonderful colors and glitter and butterflies…whats not to love! I was a little intimidated to cut into it though. It’s hard for me to create with non CTMH papers…

Supplies: DP S.E.I, Stickers Making Memories, Bling Wal-Mart, Spellbinders butterfly die.

I hope you are staying cool….the temp climbed even higher today. I caught a glimpse of 98 degrees in Hubby’s car, and that was only at 2:30…what’s it gonna get to in a couple of hours..I shudder to think. The Humidity is appalling. The kiddos had fun at swimming again..mom wanted to get in there with them :-)

Thanks for letting me know you are on Facebook! I have added quite a few new names to my friends and a few new game addictions…like Farm Town!!! (thanks Mere…you did warn me.)What is your favorite online game to play on FB or elsewhere?

Have a wonderful Tuesday!

Enjoy!

P.S....I have my Box Template available, drop me an email if you are interested and I will send it as a PDF file to you!

Two CASE’d Cards for you….

006

007

008

009

010

So I CASE’d (Copy and Steal Everything) these cards from two of my favoritest blogs…Kathi’s  Corner by Kathi and This Little Blog of Mine by Nellie M.

Nellie’s I wanted to try as she had stamped her image on watercolor paper and I thought it just looked so good! She has a couple of cards in this post so scroll down. I kept mine very CAS, no extra’s not even a sentiment LOL.

Kathi’s card is just too darned cute, as it the story that went with how she got her ladybugs on her card! Mine were SO easy to put on as they were these fluffly little guys and all they needed was a glue dot :-) . I think I like Kathi’s better though.

Supplies: kraft cardstock Hobby lobby, Thickers stickers Hobby lobby, Ladybugs from Joann’s, butterfly stamp CTMH, Bronze ink Brilliance by Tsukineko, Autumn terracota CS CTMH

WOW is it ever HOT HOT HOT here today….high 90s with a feels like of 100-105 and HUMID. I feel like we skipped spring and went straight to summer. The kiddos started swimming lessons today so they had fun with that. They also have a blast on out little water slide

051 052 055 045 048 049

I feel a LO coming with these pictures…what paper to use, what paper to use hmmmmmm?

I found out my little Kodak 5 MP Z740 camera has a ‘burst’ setting on it!!! I have had this camera for ever (5-6 yrs maybe?)And only yesterday did I realize it did this. You can set it to take pics like an SLR, up to 5 in a row, or unlimited pics and it saves the final 5…wayyy cool. Needless to say we had fun with it. Note to self…read your camera manual ha ha.

I hope you guys are all staying COOL!

Enjoy!
