And now for something completely different….

from me that is LOL….This card is wayyy different from my norm.

So I got this DCWV stack at Joanne’s on sale….Love the paper. This snowman was at the bottom of a 12x12 sheet that was supposed to be for a LO from the looks of it. What caught my eye was all the faux stitching. So I cut it out and made holes between all the lines to make it look real. Then I though it needed more dimension…so I cut up the snowman on the next page and put his hat, scarf, and heart on this one with some foam tape. The I added some bling and glitter with a Sakura pen. After that I added it to some White Daisy and I think Crystal blue cardstock and did some more faux stitching around the edge. Some snowflakes and buttons and MS branch punch later, I was done. I left this card without a sentiment as it was already wayyyyy busy for me. Don’t know whether I like it or not at the moment. But I am sure you will tell me what you think!

My Supplies are listed above :-) and NO STAMPING hee hee.

Well it is my DS’s birthday tomorrow and we made cupcakes this afternoon…My kids all opt to make their own cakes over having one bought. (saves me a bundle). Dan wanted green food coloring added to the cake batter and blue and green icing….made for some fun colors. There was a bit of a sugar rush after the leftover frosting was licked lovingly from the bowl .  Sadly it seems that the postal strike that was going on in the UK has delayed his birthday cards from my family….so he only has the one that I made him and his sister made him. Also his Dad can’t be here for his birthday as he is in LA until Friday with the new job. I am not complaining though….we are so blessed he HAS a job. BUT being homeschooled he has requested a day off from school!!!! Now that I can give him yeah!

OH and my blog title totally reminded me of Monty Python …I used to love some of their stuff…especially the Dead Parrot sketch and the Ministry of Silly Walks sketch. You can see loads of these on You Tube.

Enjoy!

Wow! I looked at your card and said/thought, "Look at all that stitching!!" I can't believe it's faux. SO cute!!

I hope your son has a great birthday. Those cupcakes look wonderful, and how fun they make their own cakes. Sweet moms have sweet kids! Enjoy tomorrow - with one less student!

What a fun and whimsical card. The colors are so alive and festive. All of the detail work is fabulous especially the stitching {faux or not} we scrappers need our little "cheats" from time to time!

So glad to have my Sarah "fix"! I've been away from blogland for a little bit, but have missed lots here! Love your last few projects and love how you used some "scrapbook" paper and turned it into a card. I often have trouble with that for some reason. The stitches look so real after you added the holes. Nice job!

Cheers,
Shanna

Fabulous card, Sarah! I love how you were inspired by that paper and I thought YOU did all that stitching (well you did, kinda). It looks amazing!

Love, love, love all the cupcake making photos. I completely agree with you on the bake your own philosophy. Your kids had a blast, I'm sure.

I hope you all have a great day celebrating a special young man!
