A Baby Card…..

Using Emboss resist and paper casting.

011

013

There are so many techniques out there I want to try..but most of the time they involve spending money and buying even more STUFF!!!!! However, these 2 techniques I could do with the STUFF I had on hand LOL. The paper casting one just uses toilet paper, water, and a stamp set!!!!

I first heard of this technique over at Mere’s lair in this post. I was intrigued enough to try it. I tried 2 different methods…the more time consuming one turned out best, but they both worked pretty well the same. Basically it involves about 10 layers of TP moistened with water then pressed very firmly onto a stamp pad..then left to dry. (the busy method involves a brush and layering the TP on a piece at a time.) Now I look at Mere’s butterfly again I see she distressed the edge of hers with ink and stamped on top as well. TP is pretty annoying stuff to work with in layers ..as the layer you glue down tends to want to detach itself from the next layer.

Anyways I also really wanted to try stamping with script stamps after seeing all Kathi’s gorgeous creations, like this one. And I wanted to try emboss resist. So I combined the two on some glossy paper and that background paper is what happened. Then I put the 2 together and voila!

Supplies:

Stamps: Baby Impressions CTMH, Air Mail CTMH

Ink: Distress Ink Tattered Rose and Fired Brick by Ranger, Versamark pad

Cardstock: White Daisy CTMH, Glossy paper source unknown (I found it in my kids art supplies LOL)

Ribbon: Sassy Strands CTMH, Spare Parts paper Studio

Button: Le Bouton Wal-Mart

Other: Clear embossing pwd CTMH, Connection Club Reward metal tag CTMH, Toilet paper Cottonelle.

Anyways I hope you like it….It looks better in person..not so pinky.

Cold and rainy here again..barely made it to 60 degrees…but it is supposed to get better tomorrow and the weekend. We have a Girl Scout Weekend Camp this weekend so I will be MIA Friday through Sunday again!

I just wanted to say congrats to Laurel over at Laurel’s Place for being picked to be a Card Patterns DT member. I know you all spend time looking at her wonderful creations as I do!!! Congrats Laurel!

Have a wonderful Wednesday.

Enjoy!

LOVE your card!! Those little feet are so sweet, and the script resist is awesome. I made Christmas cards one year using TP and a snowflake stamp - the brush and one layer at a time. They were beautiful. Took forever ... LOL.

Sarah this is perfection! Fabulous look with these techniques!! I actually laid the block down and placed the TP on it, pressing gently to get that script on. Then peeled the TP off---again--gently! LOL!

Wow! Don't you have an adventurous spirit? Love the final result, very precious, but don't think I have the patience to attempt it.

Wonderful work, Sarah!
