Card for Unscripted Sketches 06…

This card came together by accident..ha ha. I was matting the kraft cardstock with black and I put them down. When I looked at them I though ah ha..I can use them like that for the Unscripted Sketch.

I used a new (to me) technique with a brass stencil. You basically use masking tape to secure the stencil then rub this embossing paste over the top (like icing a cake ) using a palette knife. After you scrape off the excess you CAREFULLY lift off the stencil and let dry for 1 hour. The paste dries raised and very cool looking. You can add colors to it but I thought it looked better white. Plus my attempts at coloring just failed dismally.

This was my fifth attempt…I kept messing up. Also please IGNORE the green tint on the white image. I didn’t get all the ink off my stencil from a prior use. After 5 attempts..I thought OH well and used it.

I used White Daisy and Black CTMH Cardstock. The ribbon is CTMH. I ran the white CS through my Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder. The embossed image is on kraft paper and mounted with foam mounting tape. The 3 pearls are from Hobby Lobby.

The embossing paste is from Dreamweaver Stencils. (www.dreamweaverstencils.com

I left this card sentiment free as I just thought it looked better plain.

If you get a chance go visit Samie over at Samie’s Sentiments. She has some really cute things to see. These cards are really sweet!

Hope you are all having a wonderful Sunday. It’s cold and windy here. We had to cover our sensitive emerging shoots and annuals as we had a frost warning here this morning. Brrrrr.

Thanks for stopping by.

Enjoy!

Your card turned out beautifully, or as I like to call them 'happy accidents.' I love the embossed flowers, thanks for the tips. So glad you came to play at Unscripted Sketches!

Sarah, the card is beautiful - so elegant and sophisticated. I have never heard of embossing paste. I'll have to learn more about it. I love that you say "Oh Well". That is one of my, maybe not favorite, but frequent sayings.
