It is my husband’s birthday tomorrow and I made him this card. I don’t have to worry about him seeing it ahead of time as he never looks on my blog anyways. He loves making paper airplanes for the kids and is ALWAYS saying how he likes simple cards…sooooo…He got a combo of both. I would like to say I came up with this idea…but sadly I did not (mojo is not fully operational at this time). I discovered recently that our local library had quite the stash of card making books. So I checked out quite a few ha ha. Mostly they were pretty basic stuff…but there was this one that was full of really cool ideas. It is called Simply Beautiful Greeting Cards by Heidi Boyd. This card was inspired by one in the book.
The cloud paper is a loose one I picked up at Joanne’s by DCWV The vellum is CTMH as is the blue Cardstock. The paper airplane is courtesy of moi ( printer paper folded really, really tiny). It is NOT easy to fold teeny tiny paper airplanes. I used a Sakura white Gelly Roll pen for the dashes and white embossed the ‘FLY ‘ sentiment. The sentiment inside is stamped with White Daisy Pigment ink…boy is that stuff tricky to work with! I used CTMH’s Take Flight and Bird Basics stamp sets. The vellum wraps all the way around the card and is adhered on the back.
Phew I ma glad that my card disaster is no longer at the top of my blog LOL.
My Shout Out tonight is for Robin over at Oh sCrap… don’t you just LOVE that blog name. She is an amazingly talented crafter with some awesome cards and even more awesomer layouts. You should SERIOUSLY check out this layout….
