Card for my Hubby…

It is my husband’s birthday tomorrow and I made him this card. I don’t have to worry about him seeing it ahead of time as he never looks on my blog anyways. He loves making paper airplanes for the kids and is ALWAYS saying how he likes simple cards…sooooo…He got a combo of both. I would like to say I came up with this idea…but sadly I did not (mojo is not fully operational at this time). I discovered recently that our local library had quite the stash of card making books. So I checked out quite a few ha ha. Mostly they were pretty basic stuff…but there was this one that was full of really cool ideas. It is called Simply Beautiful Greeting Cards by Heidi Boyd. This card was inspired by one in the book.

The cloud paper is a loose one I picked up at Joanne’s by DCWV The vellum is CTMH as is the blue Cardstock. The paper airplane is courtesy of moi ( printer paper folded really, really tiny). It is NOT easy to fold teeny tiny paper airplanes. I used a Sakura white Gelly Roll pen for the dashes and white embossed the ‘FLY ‘ sentiment. The sentiment inside is stamped with White Daisy Pigment ink…boy is that stuff tricky to work with! I used CTMH’s Take Flight and Bird Basics stamp sets. The vellum wraps all the way around the card and is adhered on the back.

Phew I ma glad that my card disaster is no longer at the top of my blog LOL.

My Shout Out tonight is for Robin over at Oh sCrap… don’t you just LOVE that blog name. She is an amazingly talented crafter with some awesome cards and even more awesomer layouts. You should SERIOUSLY check out this layout….

Hope you are all having a wonderful Wednesday!

Enjoy!

That's a great card, regardless of where the idea came from. I have little doubt, too, but that your mojo will return soon. TFS.

Sarah! {{{HUGS}}}!! THANKS for giving me a shout out! And for always stopping by and leaving me the sweetest comments! It really means SO MUCH to me! Really makes my day!
And, LOVE the airplane card!!! My hub's bday is Friday! Whoo Hoo!! (I'm in process of his card, let's just say it's not going well, lol...might have to rethink it altogether, and go a different direction...I'll keep you updated!).
LOVE LOVE LOVE how crafty your card is! And he will surely love it, since it applies so well to something he's crazy about:)
And I'm sure your mojo will come back to you soon! BUT, maybe you underestimate it? I'm seeing your Mojo Monday card? I'M LIKING IT GIRL!!!
Seriously! I think it's awesome! Great colors, and LOVE the quilled pieces!! CUTE!! I really like your image too! I think it came together nicely, but I do know what you mean, when you say 'you' are not liking it, and yet, don't know why? If I were you, I'd be happy to take credit for that lovely creation:)
THANKS again!! {{{HUGS!}}}

Wow! GREAT job on this card! Simple is good and cool and wonderful and I'm impressed that you managed to fold a small piece of paper so well.

I'm sure your hubby will like the card a lot!

Maybe your mojo and my mojo are off together somewhere??? LOL

I love it! I think I am going to "lift" and attach a heart to the airplane with the sentiment "you make my heart soar." Thanks for the idea :-)
