Just Playin’ Around With My Christmas Stamps….

And trying to justify having them ha ha!!!

Couldn’t decide if I liked the dark green (Ponderosa pine) or the lighter one (New England Ivy)

Well I had a bit of time tonight so I decided to use some stamp sets that have never seen ink (gasp!)  The first card has that gorgeous wreath and I have seen it done in green with red bling for the berries…so I decided to change it up and use silver and blue.  That card used 60!!!!! little sticky blingy things….and I didn’t have 60 in blue…so I broke out the Copics and voila…the silver ones were now blue. After all that I screwed up stamping the Noel…oh well couldn’t think how to fix it so I left it alone.  The next 2 were ultra simple and I was playing with colors…I think I like the lighter one best. The sentiment is  embossed in gold.  There is a little gold star brad at the top but it looks like in my messing with the photo I kind of washed that gold color out. My third card is my least favorite…as I was playing with ideas and it didn’t come together for me as I had hoped. The ripped paper I saw on Tracy’s blog here and Jeanne gave me the link to the ‘do-it-yourself-Flowersoft’ Thanks Jeanne…it totally worked and I love it! Here it is …http://hogwildaboutstamping.blogspot.com/2009/10/make-your-own-flower-soft.html

Supplies ALL CTMH unless stated…White daisy CS, Ponderosa Pine CS and ink, New England Ivy CS and Ink, Dutch blue CS and Ink, Grey Flannel Ink, Versamark, Gold, Silver and White Embossing Powders, Star brads, Steep and Deep, Festive Frills, Holiday Warmth, and Say It In Style Stamp sets. Gold Stickles Ranger, Prisma Glitter, Make your own polar white flower soft :-)

I hope you all had an OK Monday. We were hard at it doing school work  and planning Halloween costumes (within a budget!).  Thanks again to all of you who take the time to leave comments…I know at this time of year it feels like life is on fast forward with everything going on and the Holidays fast approaching.  Anyways try and keep safe and well!

Enjoy!

My hubby's about to kick me off the computer, so I have to make this fast. lol I love all your Christmas cards here, Sarah! That is a TON of bling (60!?!? -wow!), but it definitely did the job --looks beautiful! As for the two greens, they're both pretty, but I'm more of a NEI than a PP gal, so I'd choose the first one (not that you asked). The final card is really pretty too --love the snow-topped hills and the brayered background. Nice embossing on them all, and I don't think you 'messed up' the wreath NOEL at all! Looks great to me. ;D (That's a stamp set I've had my eye on since it came out last year...you're sorely tempting me to put it in my shopping cart!)

On another note, we managed to hold back the tears this morning as my parents left for home. I was quite surprised actually. It was sad to see them go, but we have plans to see them again at Christmas so I think it helped a lot. My DD did shed quite a few last night as she was going to bed, knowing that they were leaving this morning. ;( And after seeing the weather forecast for this week, it's actually a good thing they left today -though tomorrow would've been better- because the snow's due to hit tomorrow night. Your favorite. lol

I'll have to come back to look at your other posts --hubby's waiting (and he's calling me "verbose," and unforunately he's right --sorry).... lol

Sarah - LOVE that wreath!! The bling is gorgeous & I love the silver/blue color combo!

My vote on the greens is the NEI. (just personal preference).

All great cards as usual!!

All gorgeous! I love each and every one including your least favorite. The homemade flower soft/snow soft looks awesome!

If it wasn't so late, I'd say more but best get my backside to bed, so I can keep up with my "busyness." Take care, friend!

I think these cards are are stunning! I love the blingy wreath. Just gorgeous. The others are beautiful too! I think this embossing is just so very elegant on these cards, and I like both green cards. love the torn paper and the glitter on it. Your cards are just fab! I'm sorry you're having trouble on my blog. Is it something I can change?
Blessings,

I love them all. Especially the silver and blue wreath!

Any luck with the internet thing? I visit Spyder's Corner and everytime I click 'post a comment' it opens a pop-up window. Each time a different web site. Random stuff. But only on her site, not on all the blogs.

Very strange stuff.

They are all so pretty Sarah but I LOVE the first one!

Sarah, you amaze me constantly with what you create! 60 gems on one card, wowzers, but it IS stunning! All of your cards are beautiful. And I like the relative simplicity of each design, which would make all but the first one good for making a bunch at a time.

I am glad that link worked out for you. I've got the styrofoam, but have to find the mojo to create on paper again...sadly...it's on vacation somewhere far, far away. I AM crocheting though and hope to share my latest project in the not too distant future. (I'm such tease, huh?)

Beautiful cards Sarah! I can't get over the 60 bling on one card! I'd have a hard time figuring out who to give that one to!! This is my first time to visit your blog and will bookmark it! I'm a homeschool mom too. Just have one kiddo though! You have inspired my with your beautiful designs--I'm off to create now!

Beautiful cards Sarah! I swear that you get more and more amazing with each one I see, and I'm sure that amazing stamping space is helping you to pump them out. I love the wreath card, and can't believe you had the patience for 60 rhinestones!!!!

Each card is so pretty! My favorite is the first one--all that bling is so worth it! When cards look this beautiful, they need to be framed and kept forever. :)

These are stunning! I love the simplicity of the cards...it gives them a real elegance. And love the out-of-the box colors for the wreath...it is amazing! I am usually a New England Ivy fan, but I love the richness that the Ponderosa Pine brings to the card. I love the idea of using the Steep and Deep set...I didn't think to use it for Christmas. Thanks for the inspiration :)
