SK sketch 13 US sketch 39

Happy Saturday everyone…here is this weeks sketch from Unscripted Sketches. I attempted another LO with this…not sure…what do you think! The paper is Basic Gray and the stickers are Thickers I believe. The white crocheted flowers are CTMH and the pink one is one of my TREASURED ones that Jeanne made for me…THANKS JEANNNE!  The stitching is more of my faux stitching. This is my youngest DD Amy..she is such a ham. Can’t wait to see what you all come up with for this sketch! Be sure to stop over at Unscripted and check out the DT work. Thanks for supporting the sketches…we all work pretty hard behind the scenes to bring you fun sketches and inspiring DT work, and we appreciate each and everyone that takes part!

Enjoy!

Steph sketch 1 US sketch 38

Hello and welcome to sketch # 38 from Unscripted Sketches…This awesome sketch was created by the VERY TALENTED Steph..if you haven’t been to her blog and checked it out you are missing out! Also while you are surfing go check out Unscripted’s new look!!! Lots of fun things happening this year! We now have a Fan Page on Facebook so go check it out! We are looking for some guest designers!

I decided to do a LO for this sketch, don’t faint, and I used CTMH Felicity papers and stamps for the whole thing..!  I turned the sketch on it’s side and had fun just sitting down, stamping and cutting! The picture is of my eldest daughter who was born on my 31st birthday….she is 13 (yes I am OLD). I LOVE this picture of her…one of the first I shot with my new Nikon. I have been waiting to scrap this. The stitching is faux and the title stamped. The birds, flowers, flourishes, and alpha’s are all included in the Stamp Set  that comes with the papers…which can be earned free!!!! OK , I hope you run over to Unscripted and take part in the sketch…while you are there check out what the other talented DT girls did.

Take care and have a wonderful weekend.

Enjoy.

Hey, Hey, Hey…it’s Saturday and that means it’s time for another Unscripted Sketch woohoo. For this weeks Sketch I went with another LO. One thing about being on the Unscripted DT  is that I am getting LO’s done that I wouldn’t normally do.  I just LOVE this unguarded moment I caught on camera of my youngest DD. Usually she is hamming it up for the shot. If you look really closely Leslie…you will see that lovely scarf you sent me, around Amy’s neck!

Although sometimes they drive me crazy, I am truly blessed with all of my children.

Supplies: Paper S.E.I (I think) Thickers stickers,  ribbon blog candy yummies, gold Stickles.

Well this weekend I am going with my two daughters to spend the night in a Strategic Air and Space museum with a bunch of Girl Scouts…hmmm you say…what fun! LOL. I think they will get to use a flight simulator and participate in all kinds of fun stuff. I will fill you in when I get back and maybe share some photos.

Have a safe and fun weekend and don’t forget to check out the Unscripted site for some DT inspiration and have a go at this weeks sketch.

Enjoy!

Quickie Post with some October SOTM Artwork…

Use me LO

Yes our Tree is a’ build it’ one…. time consuming…but a holiday tradition!

This is a very quick post because I wanted to share this card and LO I made using the October SOTM from CTMH. The LO is a shameless lift from CTMH flyer on this stamp set…Holiday Warmth…except I used flip flaps to get more photos in…also I spilled water on my ‘E’s so I had to change my title LOL. The card is all mine…simple to the point of kindergarten ….I probably shouldn’t even post it but what the heck…the gift is pop dotted.

I am exhausted after my weekend and me feet are yelling at me..Hope you all enjoyed your weekend!

I am messing with my blog so consider it a work in progress LOL.

Enjoy!

Unscripted Sketches #22

Hi everyone, I hope you are having an amazing Saturday! Here it is time for another Unscripted Sketches challenge sketch. I went with a layout again for this one, and I left it simple. I used CTMH’s Silhouette Creative Basics Papers and ribbon, the Cricut Storybook Cartridge, the Martha Stewart Butterfly punch, some pearls and the sentiment stamp is CTMH. The first photos I took were with the LO inside with no photo on it. The second photo was in the sun with the LO upright with photo added. After I took the photo I noticed one of my little butterflies had taken flight and got loose, so just ignore him :-)  Penny’s challenge this week is to use pearls so I thought this would work for that challenge also.

I hope you give this one a try and have FUN! Stop over and see all the wonderful artwork from all the other designers.

Have a wonderful Saturday.

Enjoy!

Another Simple LO….

013

015

018

016 017

I cannot take full credit for this LO…my Awesome friend Jessica made it up at out retreat. I just embellished , added photos, and a title. I loved the colors …the blue reminds me of the blue of a winter sky…which is why I went with winter pictures. My Lo’s are VERY simple compared to the amazing creations I see from you guys…but they will do . I haven’t added journaling yet or names under the pics on the left page….but you see the main idea.

Supplies: Serendipity/die cut PP CTMH (no longer available) Cricut Storybook , ribbon and embellies all CTMH.

I just realized I don’t use any stamping on my Layous???? Go figure.

On a more positive note, pending a background check, my husband looks to have got the job he interviewed for yesterday!!! I can’t tell you the relief and thanks I felt. God has answered our prayers once again, we are so lucky!

I am determined to do better…to ‘do’ more for people…to live a better life. One of those promises I made to myself was to start exercising and eating better. All my life I have been thin…able to eat anything and not gain weight…about a size 2…then I entered my late thirties and had my 3rd child…pow…goodbye metabolism helloooo flab. It is everywhere! Nothing is where it should be. I am heavier now that when I was pregnant with my 9lb 4 oz first child!!!! I just let it slide day after day. Most people would say that my weight of 145lbs is just fine….BUT I am only just 5’5” and I have gone from a size 2 to a 8/10….that is too much for my frame. So maybe…just maybe, if I write it on here I will actually DO SOMETHING!!!! I bought a Wii fit……so we will see how this ends. I will try to keep you updated…if you are interested. :-)

Have a great Friday and Weekend! I will have a scheduled post for Unscripted Sketches tomorrow ..other than that I will probably see you all Monday as I am working this weekend!

Enjoy!

Don’t Faint, I did a Layout…

011

006

007

I told you Jeanne, I had some pics like you posted recently!  I was shocked at how similar they were. These pictures were taken on a trip to Ledges State Park in central Iowa. We were there with my Mom and Dad who were over from the UK on their yearly visit with us. (they will be coming back Sept 14th!!! for nearly 4 weeks…my kids are SO excited)  It was a beautiful early Fall day and the kids spent ages building a dam in the stream.  I used the new Twitterpated Lv2 papers and My Stickease from CTMH.

Supplies:All CTMH… Twitterpated Lv2 PP , My Stickease, Buttons and ribbon…WOW I just realized no stamping!

I am feeling a little better today probably as it is a home school day and I have to be focused. I hope you are all having a great Monday.

The Unscripted DT call is now closed and I have added the new DT to my list on the sidebar…be sure to send them some love!

Enjoy!

Unscripted Sketch #14

003

004

sketch 14

Happy Saturday everyone, here is another Unscripted Sketch for you to try.  I went with another layout again. I have had these pictures of my ‘Aunty Dolly’ for ages and have wanted to put them in a layout. She was really my Mom’s great aunt but we always called her aunty. There is a sad story that goes with her life. She was a beautiful, young nursing student, who was engaged to be married, when she was struck down with a neurological disease that caused her to literally be paralyzed. She was bedridden for many years. Her fiancé left her and she could no longer be a nurse. My Mom would spend many hours at her bedside when she was young playing games with her and entertaining her. As she got older advances in medicine found drugs that could treat her disease and she could walk again. She never married and lived until she was in her 80s! I just love these pictures and this was the perfect chance to use them.

Supplies: Paper..sorry I can’t remember….Brads, Foundry Frame , flowers CTMH, Lace Wal-Mart, Button from my stash, Letter brads Joann’s clearance.

I am going to spend this Saturday with my great friend and fellow stamp/scrap addict. We are going to be kid free for the day, thanks hubbies! We will have breakfast and then spend the day cruising every crafting/scrapping/stamping store in the Des Moines area!!!! This includes at least  2 Michaels, 2 Joann’s, several Hobby Lobbies, an Archiver’s, and some really great  local stores. We are loaded up with coupons and are ready to raid the dollar bins :-) I can’t wait!

Hope you all have a great Saturday!

Enjoy!

Unscripted Sketches #11…

 001 003 004 005

sketch%2011

I really LOVED this sketch as it gave me a chance to use CTMH’s new flip flaps! ANNND it gave me a chance to do a layout…gasp!

I had a lot of fun with this one, I flipped the sketch and made it 12x12 square. The little tag on the side pulls out for hidden journaling. The Flip Flaps are awesome as you can add extra pictures without using up your creative space. To use in a Memory Protector all you have to do is cut the protector to allow the flaps to be flipped. Cool huh! Another first for me is …there is NO STAMPING or CUTTING on this LO! Courtesy of Cricut.

Supplies: Blue Ribbon Lv 2 PP CTMH, Flip Flaps CTMH, Blue frame CTMH Dazzling Die Cuts, letters, stars, flames  all cut with Cricut, rocket sticker found in Hobby Lobby…unsure of who made it.

You need to go right on over to Unscripted Sketches and try this sketch…and have a look at what the design team came up with this week, we would all LOVE to see what you come up with.

It is SO HOT AND HUMID here in Iowa…summer came with a bang. YUCK. And the rain!!! I have more mushrooms in my yard than grass.

I hope you are having a wonderful Father’s Day weekend!

Enjoy!

Creative Scrappers Sketch #46

Here is the sketch from Creative Scrappers

And here is my attempt..

Bear in mind I am not much of a scrapper and am still feeling my way, so don't be too harsh on me! I used CTMH Unforgettable Paper's. In fact everything on the LO is CTMH . The letters I cut with my Cricut. The large orchid is made from some of the B&T duos paper with some sad attempt at coloring. I really tried to make my own paper orchid..but it didn't come out as well as I had hoped. I cut the large circle following the outline of a pie plate (not easy to cut a nice circle with a pair of scissors!).
I love the pic of my DD from the Botanical Center, it's one of my favs.
Anyways, thanks for the sketch, I hope to try again soon..who knows maybe my scrapping skills will improve!
Hope you are all enjoying your Thursday!
