Hello everyone, it’s Saturday and time for another Unscripted Sketches Sketch it Saturday. I flipped this weeks sketch and had fun with it. I turned that one stripe into a pierced line :0) and the circle into an oval. That’s what we want you to do with Unscripted Sketches too…take it and run!. This weeks challenge also comes with a piggyback challenge if you want..a color combo
I chose to go without the color combo but some of our talented designers took on the challenge! Hope you head on over to the Unscripted site and try this challenge too!
This will be a prayer journal for me and I was elated to find a stamp with the beginning of my absolute favorite Psalm #23. I can tell you I have repeated this one more than any other. I used some Basic Grey papers, some Nesties dies, CTMH cardstock, ink, and ribbon. The journal is from CTMH and comes with a wonderful clear sleeve to slide your design into and keep it safe. Hope you like it!
I am used to reading this Psalm in the Old King James Bible…and the words just stir my soul…I do not often talk about these things on my blog…so if you are here for the art then thanks for visiting….
Otherwise..here is a story for you…..
I came to know Christ last Summer. Shortly afterwards my husband lost his job….after much prayer and support and a new job was found that was more fulfilling for him than the first. The words I turned to in the bible in this uncertain time for my family were the words of Psalm 23. My mom gave me a very old bible a few years ago that belonged to a treasured Aunt (complete with all the little treasures she had hidden away in it)….and what page did she have dog eared and marked with a special bookmark…but that very same Psalm. Here they are in the Old King James style…so beautiful…
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table for me in the presence of my enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
I am sorry but those words just sing to my soul…especially in the old English…..which my writer has determined are all misspelled!
Hopefully you are still with me…It is a part of who I now am and I have shared with you my friends.
Enjoy!
