I am so happy to be a guest designer for  this weeks Card Patterns sketch challenge…I just hope the talented gals over there are OK with this card. I flipped the sketch and did an Asian inspired card. The central image was done with a brass stencil and metallic embossing paste. I ended up having to use PTI cardstock because my CTMH CS kept warping….and even then I had to tape it to the table to keep it flat. Although I love the effect of embossing paste, for me at least it is a messy and tricky thing to do. For the one image that was useable there are 5 in my trash can that were not! The rest of the card is self explanatory and the CS is all CTMH. That is real sewing for a change ha ha!!!  Well I hope you likey and that you will go play along with Card Patterns this week!

Thanks for stopping by.

OHHHHHH I have something really special to share with you tomorrow so PLEASE check back then!

Enjoy!

Congrats Sarah! You're so deserving of their guest designer spot this week. Your cards and layouts are amazing! I'm happy that I get to be a part of your continued journey in papercrafting. I still remember some of your first cards posted for US. You've definitely become one of my favorites! *hugs*

I love the Asian theme of this card. It's elegantly simple, and gorgeous! Great job!

Your card is beautiful, Sarah! Love what you did with the sketch, and the colors you chose work perfectly for your theme. I've never used the embossing paste before, and it looks like you're a pro at it. Beautiful job! Love your photo set-up too. ;)

Oh, and I also have to say thank you for whatever you sent in the *still unopened* pkg I recieved the other day. I've had soooo many questions since then, but I've since learned that my mom is the culprit behind it all. Thanks so much for humoring her...I just hope she didn't threaten you or anything in the process. lol

I think your cards get better each post, this is fabulous! I love the look of the metallic embossing and think it's worth the cardstock that made a sacrifice for the sake of the finished product. Can't wait til tomorrow, you're such a tease!

Gorgeous card! It looks like it was worth all the trouble (but I will probably need to stay away from that embossing paste! LOL).

Fantastic card Sarah! Wow, love the stitching too! I have not tried embossing paste and it sounds rather daunting, but the result is spectacular! Congrats on your GDT spot.

Sorry to hear there is a bug in your house! Good luck,

Absolutely STUNNING, Sarah! It about took my breath away when I opened this post. WOW

I love that you are willing to try new things and oh my goodness, that paste sounds intimidating, but you executed it perfectly. I also love how you've been setting up your shots. Your showcases are fabulous!

Thanks SO much for sharing. I hope you know by now, you had nothing to worry about with your guest spot.

Hugs!

Please share with us some more info on the metallic embossing paste... maybe a tut?? *wink*wink* I've never heard of it, but from what I am seeing on your card I think I must find it and try it.
