Hello everyone!  Happy Saturday to you all. Here is my take on this weeks Unscripted Sketch. This is actually the front cover of a My Creations 3-Ring Binder from CTMH. I am going to use it for organizing my sketches, I think. I am certainly VERY happy with how this turned out…which doesn’t happen very often.

Supplies : CTMH Cocoa and Olive ink, CTMH Twitterpated PP, CTMH Heartfelt Die-Cuts Whimsy and Wonder, Grown With Love SS.

I got a new camera from my parents as a gift this week and I just LOVE it. It is a Nikon D3000.

I am sitting here watching my Dad and Husband put in a new kitchen sink for me ….a word of advise….NEVER buy an acrylic sink. We did 2 years ago to replace our enamel one….WELL 6 months later …it was cracking and discoloring. We were told at the time of purchase that acrylic was the way to go..NOT. Well now I am finally getting what I wanted the first time….a stainless sink…I am going to have to take  them out to supper tonight for sure!

Well have a fun Saturday and thanks as always for all your awesome comments and best wishes for my parentss visit..we are having fun!

Enjoy!

Quick Halloween Cards…

006 002 003

Remember those $1 wooden stamps…well these are some more of them. I made these while I was waiting for M&D to arrive. I tried stamping with Stazon but it ran and bled on the vellum…soooo I embossed the images on the vellum. The square windows were cut with square Nesties through the Cuttlebug. I embossed around the edges with an embossing stylus. The only tough thing was that once heated the vellum stretched and buckled and wouldn’t lie flat in the window.

Thanks to those of you who answered the Photoshop question…I had saved the file as a JPEG file…but that wasn’t enough. I finally got it to work by ‘naming’ the picture….all good.

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Enjoy!

CAS Fall card…

005

Here is a quickie card for fall. I went to Michaels the other day and they had these CUTE little $1 wooden stamps…so of course I had to pick up several Halloween and fall ones.  I stamped this on orange CS and then again on olive and paper pieced it….Simple and quick!  This is a short post as my parents are here woohooo!!!!

I do now own Adobe Photoshop…BUT any images I edit in Photoshop, Windows Live Writer will not recognize as a picture and will not let me  add here to my blog….I have a lot to learn.

Have a wonderful day and thanks SO MUCH for all the comments on my little bookmark.

Enjoy!

Bookmark for Penny’s Challenges week #6 and Tuesday Taggers…

028

029

sketch2

Penny’s challenge over at Penny’s Challenges week#6 was a Sketch challenge. I decided to make a bookmark  using some leftover corrugated cardboard I had in some packing. I have seen some neat stuff done with this and wanted to have a try.  I ended up with some extra so I made a little card too but I will post that one tomorrow as my lion needs some work. I found some raffia (right word?) and sewed it on the bookmark as it reminded me of the African Savannah grass.  All in all I kind of like it! Also Tuesday Taggers is having a bookmark challenge so I thought I would enter it in their challenge.

Supplies : Cardboard, Tim Holz Distress inks, Various SS CTMH (interpret that as I am too lazy to walk downstairs and look ha ha) CTMH colored Pencils, Cardstock CTMH, some string I found in a drawer.

Hope you like.

THANKS!!!!! for all the WONDERFUL comments on my Halloween box…I was sooo happy you all liked it.

Have a wonderful Sunday.

Enjoy!

Mojo #103 and Digital Ink Co. Challenge…

009

012

Mojo103Sketch

My good friend Kim over at Memories in Thyme is now a DT member for Digital Ink Co. and they are doing their first challenge. You get to download the image of the poppy for free and make a card. I am here to say that I am a new fan of digital images. (I have another card to share tomorrow using one of Penny’s images.) I just cut my White Daisy CS and fed it into my printer and printed out a bunch of images. (I have a HP Photosmart printer) The ink tolerated coloring with Copics, glitter, glue, and copious amounts of Liquid Glass and did not run!!! Impressive!  This particular image just had the Copics on it, but no bleeding or blurring noted. Yup I am a fan! I cheated with the Mojo Sketch..I flipped it to fit my image.

Supplies: White Daisy and Black CS CTMH, Ribbon CTMH, Poppy image Digital Ink co., Copic Markers, Sentiment CTMH.

I was checking out the MANY blogs I follow today and was totally surprised to see my Layout for Unscripted Sketches 22 Featured on the Card of The Week Blog!!!!! I was FLOORED! I was also extremely flattered. :-)

I hope you are all having a wonderful Tuesday…Keep safe.

Enjoy!

A Few Super Simple Christmas Cards…

034

033

035 037

Over at Moxie Fab World Cath is challenging us to make a Christmas themed card with stamping...Well these are ultra simple but I think they count.

These were really very quick and simple…but what can I say..I LOVE kraft, bling and felt LOL. I NEED to use up my stash! The idea to score the cardstock came from Laurel and Kathi both of whom I have seen do this. It doesn’t show up in the picture so much. The other thing you can’t see real well is the Stickles used in various places on the stamped sentiments and the Prisma Glitter on the snowflake. OHHHH and the little window was inspired by this card by Cibele of Flower Foot designs. If you haven’t been over there then you have missed out. She is an amazing paper crafter and a beautiful person!

Supplies: Kraft CS LSS, Felt Die cuts CTMH, Bling CTMH, Star Brad CTMH, ribbon CTMH, Snowflake Martha Stewart Punch, sentiment CTMH’s October SOTM.

Well I hope you are enjoying your holiday weekend. My kids and I have started our countdown to the arrival of my parents. This is the ONLY extended family my kids have. My brother and sister are in the UK along with their kids, therefore my guys have no real contact with aunts and uncles and cousins. SO this visit from my parents is the highlight of their year, beating out Christmas in the ‘most anticipated day of the year’ list LOL. (there is no contact with hubby’s side of the family.) So for those of you who have your family close…you are lucky! Don’t take them for granted. Family is precious.

Yes Kathi I am lucky to have all these stores!!! I cracked up at Kathi's comment yesterday and Laurel's. Both of these things I have said before...especially the 'rubber' one. Another one would be 'lay the table' for 'set the table' ha ha.

Sept 14th is ‘D’ day…and they are here for 3 1/2 weeks. SOOOO there will be a definite lack of blogging and commenting…I know you will all forgive me :-)

Have a safe Monday!

Enjoy!

A Simple Card….

027

028

I think it is Kathi that uses this layout for a card when she wants to highlight the paper…It totally works thanks Kathi.

I went on a paper crafting bargain hunt today! I had 2 coupons for Joann’s and 1 coupon for Hobby Lobby. Joann’s had some awesome deals. This paper stack from DCWV was 50% off, I fell in love with it as it is all glittery. The ribbon was in a set of 4 colors and all of them are already sticky!!!! woohooo…..AND they were 97 cents reduced from $4.99. I got 3 boxes hee hee. I picked up some other clearance stuff and then was able to use my 10% off coupon. I used my 40% off coupon on a circle punch. All in all some great bargains. I used my 40% off Hobby Lobby coupon on Nestibilities Labels 2 I think. My local Hobby Lobby has reorganized and increased it’s Cricut and Cuttlebug stuff…..AND to my complete joy..has a WHOLE wall FULL of Spellbinders products! It was like heaven.

Supplies: DCWV Citrus Stack, sentiment CTMH, Tulip ink CTMH, Ribbon clearance :-)

I hope you are all having a wonderful Labor Day weekend! For those of you who have asked…I DO have an English accent. I moved the the USA from the Isle of Wight in 1989 at the age of 24, so I had already formed my ‘accent’. It has mellowed a lot but it is still VERY obvious. It definitely helps that I now speak American :-) some examples..

Diaper= nappy

Trunk (car)= boot

Hood (car)= bonnet

Flashlight= torch

Sprite= lemonade (seriously)

Eraser= rubber (don’t you dare laugh!)

Backpack= rucksack

Pants= trousers

Underwear= pants (you see where I am going here )

Cookies= biscuits

Biscuits= scones

Chips= crisps

Fries= chips

hmmm I think that is enough for now…There are loads more. So when you read my blog please add in the accent.

I have some more wonderful things to share from some of my most favoritest bloggers…..I actually have these cards here, in my grubby little mitts…I am SO lucky.

This card from Beth over at Inky Fingers Rule Beth you ROCK!

017

This card from Rachel Over at Wonderfully Whimsy…Rach you are AWESOME

020

And these cards from Nellie over at This Little Blog of Mine…Nellie you are SO ARTISTIC…

Am I lucky or WHAT!

Have a great long weekend!

Unscripted Sketches #22

Sarah22

009 008

sketch22

Hi everyone, I hope you are having an amazing Saturday! Here it is time for another Unscripted Sketches challenge sketch. I went with a layout again for this one, and I left it simple. I used CTMH’s Silhouette Creative Basics Papers and ribbon, the Cricut Storybook Cartridge, the Martha Stewart Butterfly punch, some pearls and the sentiment stamp is CTMH. The first photos I took were with the LO inside with no photo on it. The second photo was in the sun with the LO upright with photo added. After I took the photo I noticed one of my little butterflies had taken flight and got loose, so just ignore him :-)  Penny’s challenge this week is to use pearls so I thought this would work for that challenge also.

I hope you give this one a try and have FUN! Stop over and see all the wonderful artwork from all the other designers.

Have a wonderful Saturday.

Enjoy!

Great Pictures, No Art…..

OK I have some neat pictures to share, so if you are looking for crafty stuff stop back tomorrow….

The story…..My great-grandfather (Dad’s Granddad) served aboard a wonderful 3 masted sailing ship  called The Fantome II, owned by the Guinness's (yes the drink Guinness….and Sir Alec Guinness The original Obi Wan Kenobi Of Star Wars Fame!!!) This beautiful ship is still in operation. It is owned now by a French Bank, and has been renamed La Belem. I believe that is is the only 3 masted sailing ship that is still sailing today. My parents recently helped a French researcher with some information regarding my GGF’s time aboard the ship and were offered the opportunity to go on board while she was moored at Portsmouth United Kingdom.

I was born on an Island off the south coast of England called the Isle of Wight and my parents still reside there. Most of the crew for The (then) Fantome were from the Island. My parents were delighted to visit the ship and sent me some amazing photos…I thought I would share them with you.
