Baby Card….

I have a friend who is expecting a new baby son any day now..and this card is for her. I used the sketch from Card Patterns a week ago but never got this posted in time. The giraffe and rabbit were both stamped in bamboo ink and then I painted the images with watercolor crayons and a paint brush!!! Very fun and relaxing. I think all the supplies are CTMH.

I did make another card using the current CP sketch but I am not going to post it as it was a bit of a flub. I showed it to my youngest DD and she said “oh……it’s um OK” I told her it was OK not to like it, as I didn’t, and she replies “oh phew..no, I don’t like it but I didn’t want to hurt your feelings.” :0)

I want to say thanks for all the uplifting comments you guys left me. They were good for me to hear. It doesn’t help that it snowed all day Sunday and has snowed all day today…now the wind is picking up and it’s pretty nasty out. My hubby was supposed to fly out today to ND but the flights to MN were delayed and then cancelled…so here he sits LOL!

I did manage to make one card I was happy with..and I will post it soon yay!!

Take care.

Enjoy!

I am so happy to be a guest designer for  this weeks Card Patterns sketch challenge…I just hope the talented gals over there are OK with this card. I flipped the sketch and did an Asian inspired card. The central image was done with a brass stencil and metallic embossing paste. I ended up having to use PTI cardstock because my CTMH CS kept warping….and even then I had to tape it to the table to keep it flat. Although I love the effect of embossing paste, for me at least it is a messy and tricky thing to do. For the one image that was useable there are 5 in my trash can that were not! The rest of the card is self explanatory and the CS is all CTMH. That is real sewing for a change ha ha!!!  Well I hope you likey and that you will go play along with Card Patterns this week!

Thanks for stopping by.

OHHHHHH I have something really special to share with you tomorrow so PLEASE check back then!

Enjoy!

I Love You…..

This card is for Card Patterns sketch #47 and for the Practical Scrappers challenge this week..Embossing. I used some pink CTMH cardstocks and a sheet of kraft cardstock for this one. I embossed the Hero Art’s cling stamp (it didn’t cling that well…kept falling off) with CTMH silver EP and colored with Copics and Sakura Stardust glitter pens…sparkly IRL!! Then I added some ribbon from my stash and some bling from Walmart. The I Love You sentiment is CTMH stamped with CTMH ink. On retrospect I should have matted the heart image..but I couldn’t get it off the card without tearing it so I left as is..oh well!

I managed to get some shots of my trees..would you believe that they are still covered with ice…all the trees around here are looking so sad…lots of branches down and schools closed due to power outages. We are OK thank goodness!

Well this card is a first for me, the first time I have ever combined so many challenges in one card! It was FUN, and that’s what it is all about right?  (ignore the oopsie on the sewing around the edge.)

I started with Card Patterns for the CUTE sketch and then used Kelly Jo’s Color Chef #34 for the color scheme…black, yellow, and white. Just Us Girls wants stitching on your project..well I have hand stitching and machine stitching on this one. Practical Scrappers want bling..so I added some bling to my flowers. Saturday Spotlight want Valentine/love cards with no hearts….no hearts on this one.

If you have any questions about this card please drop me an email. All the CS is CTMH as are the stickers.

I have 2 Girl Scouts in the house and I am going to shamelessly offer anyone out there in blog land the chance to buy some cookies…but mostly I wanted to let you know about their Cookies for Soldiers drive. We are asking our friends and family to purchase a box of cookies to be sent to a solider. We hope to get a bunch of donated cookies and then we will mail them along with cards made by the girls and signed by people who buy a box to be donated. So if you are interested in spending $3.50 on a box of cookies to be sent to a solider PLEASE drop me an email.

Stay safe and thanks as always for the wonderful comments you leave.

Enjoy!
