Krista’s August Challenge…..

Over at Simply Creating, Krista challenged us to make a card/ layout using the card base ONLY and stamps….No embellies…No paper!!!! OK so that got my mind going…and I was off on an adventure!

I ordered the goodie box from CTMH the other day and received some stuff I don’t think I will EVER USE…ah ha, I thought, I can use these Level 1 CTMH base pages as cards :-) So here are my first attempts at Krista’s Challenge

This Looks Better …..

In real Life!!

2016

So I bought these pearls for Amy’s birthday album…but they just didn’t work…so what did I do???? plonked them on kraft , just what every good crafter would do..no? Well now I have these things stuck on kraft paper now what? Well I make the best of it.  Sadly this does look so much better IRL. My camera sucked all the life out of it.  The Flower is a gift from the wonderful Jeanne, the little rose in the center is made with a bit of tulip cardstock from the amazing tutorial Here by Cibele. The pearls I picked up at one of my LSS…but I am at a loss as to which one. The stamp is CTMH For every Occasion

I hope your Wednesday is going well!  Mine has been busy and full! Full of kids! Full of family! It really is what it’s all about. I need to focus on my ‘Big Picture Plan’ in my moments of fear and worry…’am I doing the right thing’ panic attacks. Yes! They are with me and experiencing what it is to have a parent that LOVES them and is involved with them!  They know I care. So it is OK. At least this is my mantra LOL. OK enough blab from me.

If you have time Go over and give Samie a hug!!! She needs a lift right now. After reading THIS post I have to say I felt dearly for her. Maybe a little prayer may help.

Have a wonderful  rest of Wednesday and Thursday

Enjoy!

Twilight Card…

I downloaded a Twilight Font…to make this card…too fun.

So I searched the web for some pics of Twilight…found one, cropped it, and printed it on thick white paper in black and white. Then I got my golden yellow (I think) Copic and just picked out Edwards eye. It is much clearer IRL. I would have cropped out Bella all together but it was too hard LOL. Then I printed the word Twilight on  Colonial White CS in the Twilight Font…which I think is actually Zephyr..but I could be wrong. Lots of matting and a few red sparkles later and it was done. The Heart inside was from the Indie Art Cricut cartridge.

Supplies: ALL CTMH, Holiday Red CS, Black CS, Colonial White CS, Silhouette Creative Basics PP, Red Sparkles. (Copic Marker.)

I hope you are all having a wonderful Tuesday. I have been busy trying to juggle teaching 3 kids LOL. I have learned one thing…you don’t need to simplify anything for a child. I have been teaching  all 3 kids 6-7 grade chemistry…and they LOVE it!!!! My second grader is getting questions right and enjoying herself. She is so happy today as she learned and remembered what molecular  covalent and ionic bonds are!!!  A healthy dose of M and M’s and Marshmallows with toothpicks really helped :-). A second dose of infinite patience also eases things along.

Have a safe evening and thanks as always for your wonderful comments.

Enjoy!

OK I am a day late and a dollar short…but I loved this sketch at the Card Patterns blog and went ahead and did it anyways. I fell in love with the Bella papers almost as much as I did the Unforgettable and Emporium papers…but I haven’t really used them much!

ETA...This also qualifies for the Pile It On Challenge this week..woohoo.

Supplies: CTMH Bella papers, CTMH clear embossing powder, CTMH Pansy purple Ink, CTMH For Every Occasion SS , Free Spirit SS, Tickled Pink SS, Fancy Cuts Borders, CTMH Brads, Ribbon from Nellie Blog Candy!!!!

Well the Birthday party was FUN and tiring! It was a breezy 73-5 here in Des Moines and the kids were shivering after playing in the pool/water slide. Here we are, August 1st, in Iowa and our high is in the 70’s?????? Go Figure!

SO I have a question for you…..Have you ever bought an outfit or something for your kids/self because you had the paper to match at home and thought it would go well on a layout LOL…Like scrapping in reverse..matching a purchase to your beloved paper???? Well I caught myself doing this the other day and was cracking UP at me! I was wondering if you had ever done anything similar.

Here are a couple of pictures of Amy with her album..

I cannot believe it is Saturday again!  The weeks are going by so fast. So here is my take on this weeks Unscripted Sketch, I flipped it. Although the sketch is fun and I loved it I just couldn’t seem to get my grove on with it. Probably because I was working on it during my high stress moments earlier in the week. Well things are calmer now phewww. I will send this one across the pond to my Mom for her birthday , I think she will like it.

I used CTMH’s Bella papers, CTMH For Every Occasion SS, CTMH Pansy Purple Ink, CTMH Hemp. The butterflies are cut with a Martha Stewart punch, and I used the Circle and Scalloped Nestie’s. The pink pearls I picked up at Michael’s

I Hope you go check out  all the other DT’s work, it is just phenomenal. Remember you can do anything you like with the sketch , cards, layouts, 3D crafts, as long as your inspiration was the sketch :-)

I hope you are enjoying your Saturday. We are having a party for some of Amy’s friends so it will be a busy day for me. Hopefully it is warm enough for us to play outside on the waterslide! You would think August 1st  would be a safe bet for heat huh!

Thanks for all your wonderful comments on Amy’s card/ mini album, I was pleased with how it turned out and so was she. I will post it with pics in soon.

Have a wonderful Saturday.

Enjoy!
