More Kraft Cards……

022

023

024

025

OK a quickie post today as I will be gone all day Friday, and Sat at a huge home school conference. Then I am working Sunday. So my next post will probably be Monday. I will miss you all :-(

I promise that I will NOT post a kraft card next time. These are the last of my midnight creations at GS camp. I am having some ink issues…I don’t know what it is but some of my inks just will not stamp smoothly. I get this beaded effect. Now this is a stamp set hardly used and most of my inks are gently to never used..so go figure.

Supplies: Inks CTMH Cocoa, Chocolate, Clover Meadow , Crystal Blue, Olive,  and Sunny Yellow. Paper kraft from Hobby Lobby. Stamp sets CTMH  TLC, Treetops and the owl one (still the name is poofed from my head..You’re a Hoot???) The cloud in the first card is actually a treetop from the Treetops SS.

I hope you go check out the blogs of all the Unscripted Sketches DT members!

They are an awesome team!

Have a wonderful Friday!

Enjoy!

Some Heartfelts Cards…

007

028

029

My love affair with kraft paper and CTMH’s heartfelts continues  so bear with me. Sorry about the pics..I snapped them really quick as I was going out the door to hand them out LOL.The top two were quick thank you cards that held gift cards and the bottom one was a pure just for fun one I made at GS camp on little sleep at midnight ha ha.

Supplies: kraft CS from Hobby Lobby, Heartfelts whimsy from CTMH, Bigger brad from CTMH , TLC SS from CTMH, Owl  SS (can’t remember the name of it how sad is that) CTMH, DCWV green stack, inks Cocoa, Chocolate black CTMH.

I have a couple of cool things to share.

First I received014

016

this in the mail from Aaron over at Booth#32 one of my fav blogs. I was the first to answer a question correctly. Woohoo.

This is the neatest thing ever! Aaron designs these and then posts the templates on her ETSY shop which you can purchase for pennies…and all proceeds go to Operation Smile! I really need to get over there and donate to get some of these amazing creations.

Aaron sent me the instructions so I am doubly lucky. Thanks Aaron!

My second piece of news is SOOO exciting. I am just kind of in shock! I was asked to join Unscripted Sketches as one of their DT members and I agreed. To say I was floored was an understatement. As those of you who have read the blurb in my last post know…I am VERY new to all of this, so I am just tickled to death about it.

I LOVE their sketches as they leave the creative window WIDE OPEN.  So if you get a chance head on over every Saturday and check out a sketch or two.

I am so thankful for each and every comment that you guys leave! I think my Birthday Card  Unscripted Sketch 08 post probably broke my comment record (apart from the blog candy one LOL). Just know that I will never take your comments for granted and that I appreciate them all.

I realized the other day I am trying to follow 90 blogs…OUCH..I tried to go through and ‘unfollow’ (is that a word?) ones that are really not that personal…however if I now am unfollowing one of you…know that it is a mistake and let me know.  OK I am rambling…time to call it a night

Have a wonderful Thursday!

Enjoy!

Why I Started Paper Crafting….

Two years ago I thought a stamp was something you put on a letter, and I thought scrapping was some kind of fight. Then two of my dear friends asked me to come with them to a workshop held by a friend of theirs…I believe my first response was “ scrap booking? doesn’t that cost a TON of money?”

Finally I decided to join them…..just to get ‘away’ and have some ‘me’ time. WELL….thanks to my friends Jessica and Janice and the CTMH consultant Candi, whose house we were at, I was hooked. I remember going down into her basement and thinking WOW that’s a lot of stuff. I was totally enthralled by all the things she created and loved the time with my good friends.

I bought some basic starter supplies and earned my first SOTM  Snow Friends (Nov 2007) and I was off and running. At the start I could fit all my goodies in a small plastic tote that slid under a chair (LOL). I decided to make all my Christmas cards that year!!! I was so proud.

I am going to be brave and post my first ever stamped cards here….I know you all had to start somewhere too..are you brave enough to post your first cards/LO’s, do you still have them?

004

I found these at the bottom of my card box and decided to take some pics. At first I was kind of embarrassed to post them….then I thought what the heck …..we all had to have a ‘first’ card!

By July of 2008 I decided to become a CTMH consultant and my plastic tote that fit under the chair now wouldn’t hold all the stamps I own ha ha! My basement  looks like Candi’s and my friends laugh at how fast and how deeply I became an  addict.

I LOVE to create with paper. I have always loved art but was never good enough to be a true ’artist’. This medium gives me a way to create art and satisfy my high standards for myself. I am so happy to be in my space making something.015 016

My messy spot pics! OK I have cleaned this up since these photos LOL. I didn’t realize it looked so bad.

The conclusion to my little story is that I started blogging my work in Feb of this year, a WHOLE other addiction.

I have met THE most talented and wonderful people through blogging and have not looked back.

I have recently joined a group for stampers and bloggers, started my Mary over at On Life and Creating,  and she challenged us to post about why we started stamping and this was my story! Hopefully I didn’t bore the socks off you. If you have made it this far here is a little card for you to look at :-)

This is a 4x4 card using kraft cardstock, a couple of Martha Stewart punched butterflies and a  wooden (gasp!) stamp I picked up at Hobby Lobby. I believe the sentiment is from CTMH fringed Phrases set. I made this at the Girl Scout camp, so being sleep deprived, the details are a little fuzzy!

Thanks for reading this. I hope you are having a great Wednesday!

So I haven’t done a Mojo Monday in ages, and as this sketch was soooo close to the Unscripted Sketch I posted yesterday, I decided to do similar cards and make them more boy colors!  I really do like these ideas for birthday cards and hope you can bear with me showing such similar cards to yesterdays card.

Soooo I had the bestest things arrive in the mail yesterday! A while back I sent Jeanne from Creative Bliss these cool buttons I had found at Wal- Mart. Well she decided to send her own goodies to me!!!! And boy did I make out! If you have been following my blog you know I have been trying to learn to crochet. Jeanne and Barb have been giving me LOADS of awesome tips and links. Well my whole aim in this is to learn how to make those little crocheted flowers. This is what I received in the mail.
